Jeff Howe takes a stand for collective intelligence, that's just a fancy word for diversity. The term Crowdsourcing, the name of his book, literally means benefiting from wisdom from multiple sources. This brings amateurs and professionals together to solve problems. What a concept!

I can see how this would inspire and foster engagement among companies as crowdsourcing creates a larger creative canvas. The idea of being thought of as a potential partner who can engage with a company rather than just a nameless blob who buys a product reminds me of Daniel Pink's discussion about changing the nature of business. It all links together!
